A Celebration Of Ministry
Winstanley Honors Jim And Jeanette Houpt

On Sunday evening, February 11th, an overflow crowd filled Garrison Hall to honor Jim and Jeanette Houpt on Jim's retirement after more than thirty years as Associate Pastor of Winstanley Baptist Church.

Several shared the impact Jim's ministry had on their lives, and former Pastor Wendell Garrison and Minister of Music Carl Sheppard highlighted moments from their years of service together.

The church has placed a movable lectern in the building with a plaque which indicates its being given in honor of their long service to the church.

The evening was filled with both serious moments and great hilarity...

and worship in song with "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and "Are ye able said the Master".

And who will forget Jim's first (and last?) solo performance!

The most frequently asked question and statement seem to have been, "Where's Jim?" and "ask Jim." Those words certainly give testimony to how effectively Jim served and was aware of everything that was going on.

Jim, we shall miss your day-to-day service around the church. We are grateful you are remaining in our church and community. We wish you well in your new undertaking as a chaplain at Memorial Hospital.
